Low Ferritin Symptoms and Causes

Feeling constantly tired, foggy, or just not like yourself can be frustrating, especially when your lab results come back “normal.” Many people overlook a key piece of the puzzle: low ferritin, your body’s iron storage. Low ferritin can quietly impact your energy, metabolism, exercise performance, and even hair growth, making everyday life feel harder than it should.

In our latest blog, we break down the symptoms and causes of low ferritin so you can better understand what’s happening in your body. From heavy periods and gut absorption issues to inflammation and thyroid interactions, we cover the factors that can deplete iron stores and how this might be affecting your overall health. If you’ve been feeling stuck or struggling despite doing all the right things, this is a must-read.

Read the blog post here.

“Even if your labs are technically normal, your body may already be in a state of conservation. It’s using what little it has to keep you alive, not to help you thrive.”
Andrea, Health Coach

Supplement Spotlight

Codeage Grass-Fed Beef Spleen is in the spotlight this month. Grass-Fed Beef Spleen provides 1,500 mg of freeze-dried, pasture-raised bovine spleen per serving—one of the richest natural sources of heme iron, the form your body absorbs most easily. In fact, beef spleen contains significantly more iron than even beef liver, making it a powerful option for raising low ferritin and supporting healthy red blood cell production.

Along with iron, it naturally delivers key nutrients like vitamin B12 and riboflavin to help boost energy and support immune health—without the digestive discomfort often associated with traditional iron supplements.

Clinic News

We are saying goodbye to a very special part of the Julian Healthcare team.

Vanessa has been a steady, caring presence for both our patients and our team. From the moment you walked through our doors (or called in), she was often the first voice you heard and the first smile you experienced. She has a gift for making people feel seen, supported, and cared for, and that has made a lasting impact on so many.

We are incredibly grateful for the years she has poured into this practice and the way she has served our patients with kindness, compassion, and excellence. She will be deeply missed here.

Vanessa will continue spending time at her family-owned coffee shop in Cambridge City (Legato Coffee House & Market), and we would love for you to stop by and say hello.
