May Newsletter: Hashimoto's

It's estimated that about 1 in 5 women have low thyroid function, and at least 90% of hypothyroidism cases are caused by Hashimoto's, an autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the thyroid.

This month, we're taking a closer look at Hashimoto's, including what it is, common symptoms, factors that may contribute to it, and why a root-cause approach matters. Our goal is to help you better understand your body and give you practical information you can use on your health journey.

Could Your Thyroid Symptoms Be Hashimoto’s?

Some days you feel exhausted and sluggish. Other days, you feel anxious, jittery, or completely overwhelmed by symptoms that do not seem to make sense together.

In our newest blog, we share why these fluctuating symptoms can sometimes point to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and why so many women go years without answers.

Supplement Spotlight

Ortho Spore IG is designed to help support gastrointestinal balance, mucosal immunity, and the integrity of the gut lining. It provides concentrated immunoglobulins to help strengthen the body’s natural defenses within the digestive tract while also supporting healthy digestion and micronutrient absorption. By helping maintain GI barrier health and supporting a healthier gut environment, Ortho Spore IG can be a valuable tool for those working to calm inflammation, support immune balance, and address one of the root contributors often associated with Hashimoto’s symptoms.

What We Are Loving Right Now: Mito Red Light

We're always looking for science-backed wellness tools that can support the body's natural healing and recovery processes, and red light therapy is one we're excited about. Red and near-infrared light work at the cellular level to support mitochondrial function, which plays an important role in energy production, mood, sleep, circulation, and overall wellness.

Like many things in health, the best results come with consistency and a strong foundation. Red light therapy isn't a replacement for healthy nutrition, movement, stress management, or quality sleep, but it can be a helpful addition to a well-rounded wellness routine. That's why we're loving Mito Red Light this month.

Important Patient Announcements!

  • All Wellness Plan memberships will continue to renew monthly until we receive a written notification of termination at least 30 days in advance.
  • We no longer have an account with Labcorp. What that means for you: Moving forward, Susan will not have access to the lab results you get done there. When your results come in, we will need you to upload them to your portal and notify us when you have done so. Thank you!
  • As a telemed-based practice, we do not have set office hours anymore. We check phone and portal messages throughout the day and will get back with you as soon as possible.
